Online Series for Advanced Practice Nurses
The Pharmacology for Women’s Health online series is designed for advanced practice nurses It builds on current knowledge of drug classification, actions, interactions and adverse drug reactions. Participants can learn at their own pace using narrated slides and readings from Pharmacology for Women’s Health by Tekoa King and Mary Brucker.
Objectives:
- Apply the principles of advanced pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenomics and drug therapeutics in the prevention of illness based on the evidence and knowledge of women’s health throughout the life span.
- Apply critical thinking in prescribing safe, effective and appropriate drug treatment according to recognized guidelines.
- Identify research/evidence-based practice that guides advanced practice drug therapeutics decisions.
- Develop collaborative strategies for patient education regarding the signs and symptoms of therapeutic as well as adverse effects of a medication.
- Discuss the ethical, cultural and global perspectives of advanced pharmacology in the practice of woman’s health emphasizing healthy lifestyle choices.
- Describe the variability in drug response and metabolism seen in women related to hereditary or genetic differences.

Review of the 2011 ISSVD Terminology and Classification of Vulvar Dermatological Disorders with an emphasis on recognition and clinical diagnosis of non-infectious vulvar disorders.
At the completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Display familiarity with use of the 2011 ISSVD classification system for vulvar dermatological disorders.
- Define common vulvar lesions by choosing one or more nouns such as blister, nodule, macule, papule, plaque, or rash.
- Describe and modify nouns describing vulvar lesions with adjectives regarding color, surface, margination, or configuration as appropriate.

- Describe 3 visual characteristics seen in lichen sclerosis
